At Imagine Borneo Media, we are passionate about bringing the beauty and importance of Malaysia’s and Borneo’s wildlife to the world. Based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia, our company excels in natural history production, location management for Borneo and Malaysia, and conservation-focused filmmaking. We understand the unique challenges and rewards of working in this diverse and ecologically rich region. Our team is dedicated to helping with and producing high-quality content that not only entertains but also educates and inspires viewers to appreciate and protect the natural world.

Our expertise extends beyond filming; we offer comprehensive location management and fixing services, ensuring that every production runs smoothly and efficiently. We work closely with local government, communities, NGOs, and international production teams to help create the content they want from Borneo’s breathtaking landscapes, incredible people and unique wildlife. Oliver - Director/Producer/Cameraman

Oliver Deppert is a seasoned wildlife producer and director with 14 years of experience in the industry. His journey began as a divemaster in Thailand, which led him to Hainan, China, where he worked as a scuba instructor and created films of guests diving. This experience connected him with a professional underwater cameraman who brought him to Sabah, Malaysia Borneo. There, Oliver worked for a professional production company, S cubazoo, working on numerous international productions and producing his own films and short series for platforms such as Love Nature, Smithsonian, and YouTube.

In 2016, Oliver transitioned to freelancing, where he contributed to films for NGOs and corporations and assisted on international productions. His expertise led him to work on series for prestigious networks like BBC, Nat Geo, Sky TV, Arte, CBC, Disney+, Freeborne, Plimsoll and Wildstar. Most recently, he served as a field director and assistant producer on the Netflix series “Our Oceans,” and worked as a Field Director and Producer on Disney+ and National Geographics series “The Real Finding Nemo” set to be released in 2026/2027. In these roles, he worked as a rebreather diver, dive supervisor and he directed sequences, developed stories, and participated in the editing process as well as shooting aerial footage and some underwater.

At Imagine Borneo Media, Oliver manages the company, works as a cameraman, directs independent documentaries, and continues his involvement in international productions for broadcast including and helps to fix shoots across Malaysia and Borneo.

Jeradina James - Production Manager

Jeraldina James Gatidis aka Dina is a highly experienced Production Manager specialising in managing complex film and media production projects. She brings over two decades of expertise to the table, having successfully handled productions for prominent international broadcasters and production companies including the BBC, Nat Geo, Sky TV, Arte, CBC and Warner Bros.

Dina’s career is marked by her ability to manage large-scale projects with precision and efficiency. Her skills in budgeting, logistics, scheduling, and communication ensure the seamless execution of fixing and productions. She is known for her problem solving skills, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and ability to thrive under pressure. Her dedication to excellence and her comprehensive skill set make her an invaluable asset to any production team and fixing work.

Shartner Liew - Location Fixer and Wildlife Guide

Shartner Liew aka Sat is a native Dusun, the major tribe in the northern part of Borneo island. He started as a wildlife tour guide, which started when he was 16 years old as a river guide. Sat is an adventure enthusiast who loves mountaineering, whitewater kayaking, diving, hiking, tree climbing among and is always in search of wildlife. With 15 years experience as a licensed tourist guide, fixer and engineer, he has traveled to every corner of Sabah and Sarawak.

Sat is very dynamic, he never says no to any task or job that gets him to adventure, wildlife and cultures. Due to his vast knowledge of Borneo, he has been invited to work on a variety of projects, such as the Solar Hybrid Project(Technical), as research assistant to a Singapore-based university doing studies of the Penan tribe in Sarawak, wildlife filming with BBC & CBC, filming culinary shows with Studio Ramsay, travel race reality show with Amazing Race Australia, ARTE France, SKY Italia and TV Azteca Mexico.

Recently he successfully led a group of French, Swiss and Italians on a 2 weeks’ hike on the off-beaten tracks of Sabah and Sarawak and worked as Security Assistant for a Mexican production company filming a reality television show in Peninsular Malaysia.

He is a certified First Aid Responder and Automated External Defibrillator(AED) user.
